Classical guitar is a graceful, romantic instrument. It can provide a softer, delicate alternative to a pipe organ or piano. Traditional wedding pieces, such as the Wedding March, Bridal Chorus, and Pachelbel's Canon, have a sweeter feel on guitar than they would on a larger instrument. Guitar can also be paired with flute, violin, or voice for a uniquely beautiful sound. Using classical guitar for your wedding will lend your ceremony an elegant and charming atmosphere.
Classical guitar sounds best in an intimate setting where it can be enjoyed without extra amplification. Small sanctuaries like the Virginia Tech War Memorial Chapel are ideal. However, the guitar can be amplified to play in larger churches or outside.
For small outdoor ceremonies, a small battery-powered amplifier can be placed discretely under the chair to provide extra volume without the distraction of obvious speakers. For larger events, I can bring my own amplification or use your church's sound system. When we plan your music, we will discuss the size of your venue and determine the appropriate amount of amplification.
